A device is being developed by a medical technology company in Redwood City, California and it has the ability to block SPG signals at the slightest appearance of a headache.

It basically functions as an aspirin, only a hundred times more effective. It involves permanently implanting a tiny nerve simulating chip inside the upper gum of the patient. The implant then attaches itself to the SPG bundle.
Whenever the patient feels a headache coming, all he or she has to do is put a remote controller near the implanted chip and the neurotransmitters causing the excruciating headache get blocked. Just like that, the headache is stopped before it even begins.

Needle-Free Diabetes Care

A new device under development by Echo Therapeutics has found a way to draw blood from diabetics without the use of an actual needle. The poke is simply replaced with a patch. Diabetes care is a painful process. Blood has to be drawn for glucose testing, the patient has to receive shots of insulin daily and to crown it all, the patient runs the risk of getting infected with all the needle pokes.
The device operates with a transdermal biosensor that can read blood analytes without the need to draw blood. It uses a device that uses top layer cells to gauge the blood properties and put it within signal range of a biosensor. The sensor then sends the collected data to a remote monitoring system that sounds an alarm when the patient’s blood sugar level rises over the optimal range. Other than making medical practices easier and safer, these technological advances have reduced the expenditure of health institutions. Medical records used to be housed in large rooms filled with brown folders and filing cabinets.
